when love leaves

What do we do when love leaves?
Her neck is now bland, no longer bearing the pearls from your second anniversary
Tears streaming down the face you once held so gently
What do we do when love leaves?
Her frail body shrivels up on a bed you once shared
Now the worn out silk sheets are the only things that hold her
What do we do when love leaves?
She suppresses her mourning by drinking the wine you once got drunk on together
The memories getting foggier and foggier with each glass
What do we do when love leaves?
When love leaves…
So do we
For without love,
We are without ourselves.
