You Might Not Have Heard of Drag Kings. Here's Why.

Discrimination against drag kings is reflective of internal discrimination within the LGBTQIA+ community. With my research I wrote, designed and formatted my publication, You might not have heard of drag kings. Here’s why. This 24 page project is based off the 2023 pantone color of the year, viva magenta, a color with a definition similar to a drag king: “brave and fearless, whose exuberance promotes and joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative."

My time researching has been incredibly fulfilling and educating. I’ve been able to meet great kings and hear their lived experience. In a time when drag is under attack as well as LGBTQIA+ rights, it’s critical to work together to maintain love, respect, and freedom. And most importantly VOTE.
